i was raised a jdub, was with it until last year... i know everything there is to know about it, i preached it and lived it for 24 years.
but i have never heard of the act of "marking" an individual until i joined this site.
i understand the idea of it, but i dont understand what is involved... what exactly happens when someone is marked?

seems they want to clean up the books or somesuch.
they said that they had some serious "accusations" against me, and would be having an elders meeting (...."uh..uh...it's a judicial meeting" ) this wednesday evening.
sometimes i mentally put myself in the position you are in... the only thing i could think of that would get me out of it... depending on what the accusations are... is to say everything they want to hear. lie until you are practically in tears. act like you are angling for an oscar. be the person you never wanted to be, if only for an hour or two. yes you loathe apostates, yes you believe in the kingdom's establishment in 1914, yes you believe that the GB is God's only channel of communication to humankind today... etc... these are, of course, only options if you are being accused of apostacy. if they are accusing you of some other sin that people have witnessed you doing repeatedly, then you could be screwed. but hopefully that isn't the case.

with the amount of wine in that picture, the only way it could be from the watchtower is if it was depicting what the watchtower calls "new generation annointed"... basically, a lot of older annointed brothers and sisters have been sinning and, in turn, being cut off into everlasting destruction. so Jeshuah needs to replace them with young, vibrant visible minorities... as well as some token well-groom white folks. wouldn't that be sweet if it were true? the GB had a flash of new-light and the light spoke that we were actually running low on annointed and that many young ones were to fill those spots.... i'd be first in line! who wants to go to heaven? ME ME ME ME!!!!

through clear reasoning with a jehovah's witness, has anyone found it possible to show a jw that they are completly brainwashed members of a cult?
what are the best strategy's or methods of converting a jw back into a clear thinking individual?

i am an non-active jw for abaout a year, and during my inactivity i had grown a goatee (a beard at first).
my family were no to happy about it,but made no big stink.
one of my closest friends insists it is very bad.

priceless! that was one of the best replies to any post i have ever heard... not to mention it was summed up in once sentence. but wait a second, according to WT history, Abel was the first JW... so why wouldn't Jesus be one? and also, wasn't Martin Luther part of the FDS???

i like your posts tyre. easy to read and spiritually upbuilding. being raised a witness myself, i still feel a little uncomfortable praying to jesus... but what about praying to the Holy Spirit? is that allowed by trinitarians? i have never heard anyone do it. do you have any scriptures or angles that could shed light on this subject? thank you in advance for your reply
